Four Goals of Myofunctional Therapy

Nasal breathing day and night

 We are made to breathe through our nose. Nasal breathing activates the "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system. It impoves oxygen intake and reduces fatigue.

 

Lip Seal Day and Night

Our lips should naturally rest together. Myo improves oral rest posture for better facial growth and function, reducing jaw pain and enhancing breathing.

 

Correct Tongue Placement

Our tongue is meant to rest on the roof of our mouth. providing guidance for proper growth and development.

 

Correct Swallowing Pattern

Our tongue should not push forward on our teeth while eating or drinking. This can lead to bloating and tummy pain as well as orthodontic relapse.
